I had some great luck

About a month ago my brother and I headed south hoping to find a museum called "the four sisters gallery for self taught visionary art" which we had heard was amazing but also "hard to find" and "mysterious". Our only clue was the collection was associated with Wesleyan college in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.
We made it more than half way there before when we got a voicemail from a professor at the college informing us that the museum was closed and the collection was to be moved and absorbed by a larger museum in Raleigh.
It was a bummer. I tried to call the professor back but he didn't pick up.
We had a pretty weird day nonetheless. We went to a place called Little Texas, Virginia--
//stumbled upon this  abandoned church (pictured below) in the middle of the woods deep in the Flat Swamp which had four disembodied deer right outside of the door.

//called the Brunswick County museum for advise on where to find good stew and got transferred to the local chamber of commerce... for stew advise.
It was really fun.

A couple weeks later I decided to call the professor again and see if he could tell me more about the collection. And he did! And he was super nice! he ended up sending us catalogs of the collection!

And the coolest thing is that the last twenty pages of the book are detailed accounts of folky landmarks you can find and visit. So much gold. Such great fodder for small adventures.

Just check out this place! This is a snippet about an adult video shop run by a named named Grover Shearin in NC who just glues shit to other shit. Looks so cool!! Can't wait to go!

Looking through snapshots my mother took when she was in her early 20s. This is my family’s ancestral farm house near Shartlesville, Pennsylvania. When this photo was taken the house was unoccupied.

see the ghostly apparition in thar upper middle window?
If you look really closely you can make out a man standing behind the woman.
